The construction of the M4 expressway section between Törökszentmiklós and Kisújszállás offers significant advancement in the development of the country's transportation infrastructure. Various phases of the project are underway on the 34.29-kilometer stretch, ranging from traffic diversion to asphalting and the construction of structures. Despite the entire section still awaiting completion and facing numerous challenges, the execution is progressing. The investment is being carried out by Duna Aszfalt Projekt Zrt., one of László Szíjj's companies. The bypass section in Törökszentmiklós is already partially usable, with the reconstruction of the right lane currently ongoing. Soon, the new route of the M4 and its associated junction's temporary connecting road will be completed.

From October, the traffic on Route 4 will be temporarily diverted to this route to allow for the construction of the final junction connections. Significant progress has been made on earthworks and roadbed construction on the new 17.5-kilometer route. Asphalting is also in progress, with the binder layer already completed on 10 kilometers. The left lane of the Kisújszállás bypass is near completion, but the wearing course and traffic engineering elements are still missing. The project also includes the renovation of five connecting roads. Among these, only the road connecting Óballa has been fully completed so far, while the renovation of Kossuth Street in Törökszentmiklós is ongoing until September. The construction of structures is progressing well, with the deck slab completed at the bridges of the Törökszentmiklós and Kisújszállás junctions, and the construction of connected embankments is underway. The joining of the bridge over the Nagykunsági Main Canal is expected by early November. Numerous additional tasks remain, including utility constructions, the establishment of stormwater drainage, and the substructure work for the operational communication system.

While the project still requires significant time and work, it is hoped that it will eventually greatly improve the region's traffic situation and safety. However, the inconveniences associated with the construction will continue to test the patience of those traveling in the area. Source and photos: magyarepitok.hu
