To use Lithuania's toll roads, an electronic toll payment (e-vignette) is required before entering the toll sections.
The toll obligation applies exclusively to buses (M2, M3) and freight vehicles (N1, N2, N3); passenger cars (M1) and motorcycles may travel free of charge on all roads in Lithuania.
The toll is payable on main (A) roads as well as on designated regional road sections; following the expansion of the network, the total length of toll sections is approximately 2,851 km.
The toll is available for three periods:
* Annual tolls can no longer be purchased since 1 July 2026. All e-vignettes will automatically expire on 1 January 2027, as this is the day the replacing distance-based Via Toll system is launched.
* No toll has to be paid for trailers, and there is no need to modify an existing e-vignette when a trailer is attached: only the axles of the motor vehicle are taken into account when calculating the fee.
* The e-vignette is invalid if it was purchased for a different vehicle category, unless the fee paid equals or exceeds the amount prescribed for the given category.
The toll calculation is displayed by the system after the vehicle and journey details have been entered.
Payment of the road usage fee is made online. Registering the vehicle takes only a few minutes. The following data are required:
When placing the order (during vehicle registration), the vehicle's licence plate number and the country where the vehicle is registered must be provided, then the start date and duration of validity must be selected.
The system requires an e-mail address and a mobile phone number for contact purposes. Providing a mobile phone number is necessary because the link to the certificate is also sent by SMS, thus ensuring that the user receives the certificate even if the delivery of the e-mail is obstructed for any reason.
Upon successful payment, the system sends a receipt and a QR™ SMS code containing the vehicle's identification data and the validity period of the purchased toll.
⛔ Fines
The legislation (Article 463 of the Code of Administrative Offences) sets out in detail the fines that can be expected if someone enters a toll road section without valid payment:
Here, through the registration portal, the required toll payment certificate can be obtained online within a few minutes, and it is recorded in the official register of Via Lietuva AB.
Components of the registration service
With us, the toll is available together with the Comfortia and Auxil services; their fee is part of the registration fee.
Under Comfortia – if you mistyped the data during the order – we will change the licence plate number, the country of registration, the vehicle category, the destination country or the start date of validity once free of charge; the system checks for obvious typing errors automatically and, if necessary, manually as well. The order may be cancelled and the full amount refunded at least 24 hours before the start of validity, with the exception of the annual vignette.
Under Auxil, if you receive a fine for a reason connected to your order, we provide legal assistance within 180 days of the order: we act as your authorised representative before the competent authority, submit an appeal, and initiate a deferral of payment or a reduction on equitable grounds. In justified cases, we may also reimburse the amount of the fine, up to a maximum of EUR 300.
Further details are set out in sections 4.1 and 4.2 of the General Terms and Conditions.
