The D35 motorway is expanding. Here's how the section near Svitavy looks in drone footage.

The construction of the new 11.5-kilometer-long D35 motorway section between Janov and Opatovec began at the turn of May and June last year. This section includes 20 bridges and an at-grade intersection. The opening is planned for the end of 2025. The motorway near Svitavy will then continue with the construction of two sections around Moravská Třebová, which will connect the D35 to the already built motorway near Mohelnice. These sections will be implemented by a private company under a PPP (public-private partnership) model. Construction work is expected to begin in 2026 at the earliest. The progress of the construction can be viewed in the following video, which was made in May 2024.
