Traffic restrictions on the M1–M7 highways over the weekend. From Saturday night at 9 PM to Sunday morning at 7 AM, specialists will be replacing the 'variable message digital road information boards' on the entry and exit sections of the M1–M7 highways. According to the announcement by Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt., road closures will be periodically implemented during the work.
On the section leading to Budapest, near the Budaörs rest area, replacements will begin, during which the inner, middle, and outer lanes will first be closed. During these times, traffic can flow on the emergency lane and the parallel collector-distributor lane. When the actual installation takes place, a full road closure will be in effect, restricting traffic for approximately two times 30 minutes. During this period, only the parallel collector-distributor lane will remain open. Then, a display on the side of the M1 highway leading towards Győr at kilometer 13 will be replaced, during which a full road closure will be in effect starting from the M1–M7 split.
During this time, motorists must continue on the M7 highway and can return to the M1 highway via the M0 orbital road. The detour will be indicated with warning signs on a yellow background. Magyar Közút advises drivers to check the current traffic situation with the Útinform service (+36-1-336-2400) or on the website www.utinform.hu before departure. It is also advisable to use navigation and community driving applications to plan the optimal route.
