In the next two weekends, night maintenance work will take place in the Sitina tunnel located in Bratislava, as part of the autumn seasonal service. This was reported by the press department of the National Highway Company (NDS). The service will be conducted in both tunnel passages, from Friday night to Saturday morning, and from Saturday night to Sunday morning, from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. During this time, traffic will be diverted to the city road network.
NDS explained that the third and fourth phases of autumn maintenance will be held on the last two weekends of October, namely on October 18-19 and 25-26. The regular maintenance includes cleaning of walls, sidewalks, road surface, drainage systems, lighting, crosswalks, bridges, as well as measuring the pressure of the fire protection network and repairing cracks. The semi-annual tunnel maintenance is conducted nationwide in Slovakia every year in spring and autumn. NDS emphasizes that this is not just a legal requirement but primarily conducted in the interest of traffic safety.
