Transport Minister Jozef Ráž has launched his third large-scale motorway tender and will soon begin the fourth procedure. Companies have three months to submit their bids. However, the first two ongoing tenders have not been successful in the business world, and due to complaints, they will be extended. The economy of the Kysuce region is flourishing. This is greatly contributed to by the fact that several major car manufacturers operate in the region and beyond the state borders as well.
Last week, Hospodárske Noviny reported that the South Korean company DH Autolead, which supplies car parts to KIA, announced an investment in the region. However, the development of the factories in the area places a significant burden on the road network, as long queues of trucks build up during the day. The D3 motorway, which the state has treated as a priority, could help solve the region's transport problems. The tender for the first northern section was launched before summer. On Wednesday, the tender for the second section between Kysucké Nové Mesto and Oščadnica was also launched. This project includes 22 bridges, one junction, a rest area, and a migration corridor for animals. "Only the tender for the third section remains. I hope we can accomplish this in the coming weeks," stated Minister Jozef Ráž.
