Bucureşti-Craiova is almost entirely on highways and expressways: The Ministry of Transport has given another 20 km to traffic. You can drive on 92 km out of a total of 121 km. There will be another section tomorrow.

The Ministry of Transport today opened another 20-kilometer road section between Coloneşti and Albota on the Craiova-Piteşti expressway. This section is the last step before the connection between Dx12 and A1. Thus, motorists can now travel entirely on the expressway between Albota and Balş, significantly reducing travel time.

The total length of the Craiova-Piteşti expressway is 121 kilometers and it is divided into four sections: Section 1: Craiova - Robăneşti (17.7 km): it is expected to be opened tomorrow, November 29, 2024. Section 2: Robăneşti - Slatina (40 km): fully opened to traffic in 2022. Section 3: Slatina - Coloneşti (31.7 km): The entire section was delivered in 2023. Section 4: Coloneşti - Piteşti (32 km): of which 20 kilometers were delivered today, the remaining part is expected to be put into traffic in the near future. The opening of the road sections is in line with Ford Otosan's investment plans, which are being implemented in Craiova.

In the last two years, the company has invested almost half a billion euros, including in a battery assembly capacity for electric cars. Three electric vehicles will be produced in Craiova: the E-Transit, E-Tourneo Courier and Puma Gen-E models.
